Leonard,

Regarding this statement, "Has to the question were Confederate irregulars insurgents? If a US Citizen fires upon forces representing the US Govt then yes. After all Linclon and the Senate and Congress were elected legally and had the right under the US Counstitution to suppress rebellion.", you are moving in to an area of opinion-based discussion, which may be better suited to the Civil War News and Views Open Discussion Forum at http://history-sites.com/cgi-bin/bbs53x/nvcwmb/webbbs_config.pl . This question of the legal right of the federal government to suppress a rebellion, viewed as a "state's right" prior to the Civil War is a lingering unsettled and opinion-based argument.

If you want to talk about Missouri "irregulars", please feel free to do so, but don't get in to the larger discussion referenced above on this site.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Jim Martin
