I was strolling through that cemetery looking for long deceased ancestors and was struck by the inscription.
I have no idea if someone had it 'in' for Henry, the fact that his headstone said "Killed" instead of Died was
what caused me to pause and think that the date might suggest some involvement in those troubled times.
The Polk County Historical Society didn't have any information nor were there any newspapers being published
in nearby towns so there doesn't appear to be a record of his death.
He left a wife and three daughters. The only things I could find out about him was that he was born in
Tennessee and his wife was born in North Carolina.
He may end up being just another mystery.
