The PM files relative to civilians are an interesting collection. I now routinely search this collection for any subject or person I am researching. You will find lists of people confined in the Springfield Prison along with deaths there that you won't find in any other record collection. To answer your questions, I am not aware of any comprehensive books on the PM's. I have done a fair amount of research in the Court Martial files but have not seen a case that a civilian brought against the US. I am not sure that the law at that time allowed for such. I do know that there was a very low conviction rate on any and all cases brought before the JAG's.
