Thanks Bruce for the information. Modina / Modena is fairly close to Gallatin where my relatives were all located. I'm still digging deep to find what the Illinois connection is or if its a false lead. It's too bad the 5th Cavalry records didn't have a bit more information on where Christopher died and was buried.
