Thanks Bruce. Regarding blockhouses, I've only run across a photo of one such building--one that was located in Troy, Missouri. Unfortunately, the photo is undated, and is of poor quality quality. There is a line of men standing at attention in front of it. They are armed, and in civilian clothing. I would venture to guess that the men belonged to the 37th EMM aka Shirt Tail Militia, or one of the postwar militias.
