Coleman for 3 years, notation on the October 31, 1862 muster roll, Private in Cavalry 6 months & 18 days - Infantry 1 month 12 days, deserted at Camp Rodgers[sp?] May 26, 1863, deserted June 22, 1863 at Jacksonport, no further records

The 10th Regiment Missouri Infantry (also known as the 1st Regiment Missouri Infantry and as Steen's Regiment Missouri Infantry) appears to have been organized about November, 182, by the consolidation of Steen's and Picdkett's Battalions Missouri Infantry, together with men from Priest's and Wilson's Regiment Missouri State Guard Infantry, Coleman's Regiment Missouri Cavalry, and from a Colonel Johnston's Cavalry Command

July 4 on steamer Tycoon and sent to Cairo, Ill July 5 on steamer Silver Moon, arrived Military Prison, Alson, Illinois July 9, admitted Prison Hospital August 29, Small Pox, returned to quarters September 21, sent to Fort Delaware, Del. prison, April 4, 1864, paroled February 27, 1865 and sent to City Point, Va., for exchange, arrived Richmon, Va., March 3, captured at Bruinsburg, Miss. April 23, 1865, received at Alton, Illinois May 16, discharged June 19 on taking Oath of Allegiance, provided transportation to Iron Mountain, Mo.
