Ok here is what I can nail done with a degree of certainty, Jesse Story born 1813 with sons William, John, and Jesse is the Jesse Story in the 2nd MO. He left Shannon county after his arrest and release and lands in Randolph Co Arkansas and lives at least to 1880 where he is found with his daughter Mary Bennett.

His son Jesse V Story is around in the 1870 census in Randolph Co. Arkansas
His son William is the William Story in the 10th Inf. He is found in 1860 in the Chilton household as a laborer on Mahan's Creek and I'm convinced he WAS killed by Blair.
His son John appears on a draft roll Shannon county July 1 1863. As does William and Samuel all 3 together listed as Delaware Twsp Shannon County. Ages are 23, 22, and 25.

We thus have the question did all 3 sons enroll in the 10th? I don't think so as William's service card clearly lists him as a resident of Shannon Co and enlisted there. The John and Jesse Story of the 10th have their place of enlistment as Oregon County. There is a Story family at Birch Prairie, Oregon Co in 1850 and 1860 census that includes a Jesse Story but he too would only be 13 or 14 in '63 but the geography fits according to Blair. The hunt goes on...
