Thank you for that interesting obituary. I have a relative that also died in Port Gibson, Mississippi after the war on 12/31/1872. His name was Robert Rankin Russell. He was a Confederate soldier - 2nd Lt. in the 3rd Missouri Cavalry Volunteers, Company B. He is buried in Port Gibson, Mississippi. I was wondering if while you are researching in that local newspaper if you might look and see if there was an obituary for Robert Rankin Russell? I would appreciate it if you had the time. Thank you.
