Oh the info gets bigger and bigger. See this post on Facebook about John R White. He was the NUMBER 1 slave trader in little dixie and had over 5000 acres under cultivation in Howard county, with seventy plus slaves.

White apparently had slave trading connections with a James White a significant slave trader on the Mississippi River just north of New Orleans. I am not sure of the relationship, but now there is a Louisiana connection that might help explain the Patrick "Sandy" McMacane dilemma
