Re: David Upton and Others: Co. A, 39th Mississipp

"His brother who was killed at Atlanta was Alexander W. Harper, (Ted's great uncle) born 9/16/1840 and killed 7/28/1864. He may also have enlisted in Covington or Simpson Co., Miss.'

Served in "Covington Rangers" Co. I, 7th Miss. Listed in Wm. Hadskey's report--

Pvt. Alexander W. Harper Killed at Atlanta, 28 July 1864.

I have no other information on A.W. Harper, his grave is not listed in any sources that I have. Any information,
birth, burial, family stories, pictures, letters, etc. that the family is willing to share the 7th Miss. History Project would love to have. Please inform them that Ron Skellie is working on a book to honor this unit and that is what the material will be used for.
