Okay. I had this wordy posting that I just had typed up when I lost power. Anyway here's the short version.

I see the S. J. Harper is listed under

Company A of the 39th
Company B of the 46th
Captain J. C. Barnes Home Guard
Company B of Yerger's Regiment
Power's Regiment (started March 65)

There are several men included Captain J. C. Barnes that are listed under Company A of the 39th also listed for Captain J. C. Barnes Home Guard (six months starting Oct. 63)

Barnes Company is also listed as Company B of Yerger's Regiment

What might have been happening is men from the 39th for some reason went home and were enlisted again under Home Guard and then attached to different units at different time for different reasons.
