A little anecdote re John S. Griffith fyi.

The West Texas cousins had erroneously placed a "Colonel John S. Griffith, CSA" marker next to the grave of Col. John Griffith (11th/17th Ark. Infantry) there in Kimble County, TX. Apparently it had been there for sometime.

I was able to provide documentation to convince them of the error and the wrong marker was removed sometime after my intitial visit there in 1995.

Have tried to establish some familial connection between John S. Griffith and my Griffith kin (SW Wales --> Philadelphia PA --> Colleton District SC --> Lauderdale Co. MS --> Sebastian Co. AR) but no luck to date.

Leaving tonight for a "Graceland Road trip" for my 13 year old daughter (she likes Paul Simon's song "Graceland"); hope to visit Ft. Pillow, Shiloh, Corinth, Iuka, & Franklin while going to and from Memphis....
