Thanks for the headsup with the 17th Battalion, I will definetley do some research to confirm if they were involved in the Holly Springs raid.

There are several sources which claim Sander's company was with Armstrong during the August raid into West Tennessee but they are incorrect. In the Official Records, Volumve 17, Part 2, pages 689 and 693, it is very clear that the company is not with Armstrong. On the 28th of August, Armstrong was resting four miles south of La Grange, TN., and Sander's Company was in Bay Springs and ordered by General Henry Little to conduct a scout to the Tuscumbia River.
