Re: Belmont Masonic Hall, taking from memory the Masonic Hall at Belmont was moved to join with Springport and later was moved to join with Sardis Masonic Hall. My Greatgrandfather paid his lodge dues on 12/8/1894 to the Springport Lodge No. 90 and in 1915 he paid his dues to the Sardis Lodge number 307. In 1905 my family purchased a farm which was just outside the ploted lots of the Old Town of Belmont, but during this time went to the Springport lodge and then to Sardis both being about the same distance from Belmont. The last home that was in Belmont was torn down in the 1950 for the material, it was a beautiful old home sitting on high hill overlooking the Tallahatchie River. This old home sat vacant and unkept during the 1940s and 50s; however I do remember visiting it many Sunday afternoons and hated to see it torn down, I remember it having a brick floor in the library, which was on the ground or basement level.
