Dennis - Thanks for the offer to help, I really don't have time to do much more than keep up with what I had. The Panola Story has a good outline of the Masonic Halls in Panola County, when I went to look for information this morning, for some reason there was the book opened to The Belmont Lodge, I just wanted to assure others of the true story of Belmont, It really has a noteable history. I think Belmont had more original students at the Univ of Mississippi other than maybe Oxford. My GGGreat Uncle had Steamboats that called on Belmont, he had furnish business with his brother who ran the office in New Orleans, the boats hauled cotton from The Tallatchie Valley to New Orleans and retrurned with goods for plantations and stores.
