This info came from Mr. George Purvis' first note written to me on 8/8/10. Thank you for your interest and if you can help me, please do. by the way, i googled the 29th infantry and found a list (partial?) of the men, submitted under Holmes County Military/Dixie Rifles. James Kirk is not listed. very confusing. Mr. Purvis explained to me that some of the regiments consolidated and that 29th merged with others, specifically 30th.
