God bless you guys for what you all do with those flags. I have kept up a little bit with that.

I have a good description of the Greys flag from a diary account, but I am a bit wary of letting it out due to people who might try to fake it. We have not found the flag yet. We have run down a number of leads, but no flag yet. My friend Larry Hawkins still thinks it is out there and we still have a lead or two. I am a bit less optimistic, but it is still truly a Holy Grail and or a holy relic for me.

I just got back from Ole Miss tonight. I stayed down there today to do some research. I found and copied most of the reports of the head of ordinance and the Quartermaster, of the state of Mississippi, to the State Senate and or the House. These were in the Senate and House Journals. They show State buttons being issued to individual Captains for their companies as well as issues of accoutraments (sp?) and rifles or smoothbores or even a few flintlocks and pistols and sabers for cavalry companies and even artillery pieces. Have you ever seen anything like this? To me it seems like a goldmine for re enactors and other researchers. This was mostly for 1861 report dates.
