Re: University Greys Talk Sept. 26 Oxford

Let's see. I have a George Brown on the University Greys roster. He enlisted April 26, 1861 at Oxford. He was not a student at the University and due to the common name I do not know what county he was from. He was 20 years old and he transferred to Company E of the 11th on June 7, 1861. Now, let's pull out the Company E roster.

From Company E he was deatailed as a waggoneer on September 18, 1861. He was discharged about December 1861.

I would guess he searved in some other regiment after that. What does his uniform look like in his picture? Hat? Striping on jacket or pants?
