This is a nice piece of information and I thank you for it but I'm not sure how it applies to my guy, who was wounded at Spring Hill and lost his leg and, therefore, couldn't walk anywhere. His home was in Louisville, MS. There were ever so many more wounded, of
course, after Franklin, involving a whole different set of logistics for them. That I read that on the retreat from Nashville, when they
got back into Columbia, there were wounded there already is what makes me wonder if perhaps he would have been taken there after Spring Hill. Do you think that's possible? Then on the further retreat, mention is made of wounded at Pulaski, so maybe they were
taking at least some of them with them despite the horrid conditions? I know it would be entire speculation as to whether or not any particular wounded soldier of no reknown got to any particular place, however. I'm glad to know what you told me, though.
