Re: MS Confederate Pension Lookup

Thanks so much for the information. I am still not sure how I should look for the pension application, by Moreland's Regt? Are the records based on the last Regt. in which they served? How do you get complete service record? Do you have to list all Regt's in which they served to get complete records?

Below is the website I was talking about with the burials of CIVIL War Veterans in Tishomingo County, MS. I know many were in Moreland's Regt. when I last studied them, and are now listed as the 7th AL Regt. I think I saw this a few years ago and don't remember it saying the 7th, but maybe the 1st AL Cavalry Regt instead (?). It seems amiss, however I am hardly an expert. I have never heard of my ancestor E. M. Bruton associated with the 7th. I have a Pension stub somewhere of his. I guess I'm concerned this will lead folks in the wrong direction if it is not wholly correct. I would not really expect any of the Tishomingo County, MS/NW Alabama men to be enlisted in the 7th AL Cavalry, maybe served some with them, but not enough to be placed under their command.
What do you think? I am into genealogy heavy, but until now, my being able to locate civil war service records has been very easy.
I thought you might want to look at this:

Thank so much for your help!!
