Re: MS Confederate Pension Lookup

To add further to the discussion, my great-great grandfather's brother served under Col. Moreland in the 10th Alabama Cavalry, Company E, enlisting in February 1864 at Smithville Miss.. His pension was at first denied by State of Alabama because there was no record of John T. Robinson on the roll for the 10th Alabama Cavalry, under any company. Later, after providing three witnesses with affidavits as to his service, John T. Robinson was declared eligible for pension. The witnesses all stated that they served with John in Company E, 10th Alabama Cavalry. John's own affidavit stated that his captain was Captain Chaffin. From the little, online research I've done, the 10th Alabama Cavalry is a very confusing regiment. Any help appreciated.
