Re: George Spiers, Co. C, MS Volunteers

My cousin and I thank you for the information about his ancestor, George Washington Spiers, and 4 of his brothers.. Supposedly their oldest brother, William Martin Spiers (4 June 1820- 2 March 1892, buried Spiers Cemetery, McNeill , Pearl River Co., MS) was in the reserves dring the Civil War.

Another brother, Alexander R. Spiers (17 Aug 1829 - 7 Apr 1907, buried at Union Cemetery, Caesar, Pearl River Co., MS) enlisted in Co. C, 38th MS Volunteers in April 1861 at Gainesville, MS. Another brother, Samuel Slaydon Spiers (23 Jan 1837 - 4 Oct 1911, buried at Sones Chapel Cemetery, Pearl River Co., MS) was the right age to have served, but there's no knowledge of any service for him. Do you find any for him?

Confederately yours,
Mary Anne Hammond
