Fairly for 3 years, joined from desertion December 9, 1863, pay and allowance to be stopped for 12 months by sentence of General Court Martial, in arrest at the end of the year, wounded at Resaca, Georgia May 14, 1864, sent to hospital, recorded absent August 31, 1864**, no further records as this was the last muster roll in the records

Ebenezer P. Stewart, Private, Capt. W. J. Rankin's Company (Marion Men) , 7th Regiment Mississippi Volunteers*, enlisted September 27, 1861 at Shieldsboro by Gen. C.G. Dahlgren for 12 months, recorded absent without leave on October 31, 1861 having not returned from 7 day furlough granted September 19, sent to General Hospital May 28, 1862, discharged at Harrison's Landing by furnishing a substitute August 23, 1862, description: 22 year old Farmer, born in Perry County, Mississippi, 6' 2", fair complexion, blue eyes, light hair

** Record of Events, Company F for May 1 to August 31, 1864 where they were now stationed at Jonesboro, Georgia

Company left winter quarters on the 5th day May 1864. Since which time, they have been actively engaged in the campaign taking part in the Battles at Resaca on the 14th & 15th May. The Skirmish on the 22nd June. The engagement of the 22nd July, 28 July and the Battle at Jonesboro on the 31st August. Besides several other skirmishes, in all of which the Company suffered severely. They have marched during that time, more than five hundred miles, and have entrenched themselves fifteen times, besides worked on many other entrenchments. The health of the Company has been good considering the hard life they have endured.
