His records with the 39th Mississippi show that he was transferred to Co. H, 6th Mississippi Regiment sometime during the period April 30 - August 31, 1864. However, the records of the 6th Mississippi record only an Isaac Box being transferred at this time, who subsequently died in service.

We do however, find a F. M. Box in Power's Mississippi cavalry, Private, Company F, resident of Neroton [sp?] County, Miss., who's one card reads:

"His name appears on a Roll of Prisoners of War of divers companies and regiments (detached) of the Confederate States Army, commanded by Lt. Col. R. H. Lindsay, surrendered at Citronella, Ala., by Lieut. Gen. R. Taylor, C. S. A., to Maj. Gen. E. R. S. Canby, U. S. A., May 4, 1865, and paroled at Meridian, Miss. May 13, 1865.

"Roll dated Meridian, Miss., May 13, 1865."
