Believe the incorrect information derivied from input to the Mississippi Confederate Grave Registry.

There seems no way a 66 year old would have served four years of the war. Seems the records got comingled with Samuel M.

Enlisted on 5/15/1861 as a Private.
On 5/15/1861 he mustered into "A" Co. MS 9th Cavalry
He was Surrendered on 5/10/1865 at Forsyth, GA
