Yes indeed,one can only assume that they wer a bit upset. but, having said that, if they only knew what was in store for them in the future. The marching, during Johnson's Yazoo campaign in MS, during the summer of 63',in my opinion, had to be some of the most gruelling marching that the 60th would face.
I was fortunate enough, in my studies, to locate some primary source information, written by a gentleman from Buncombe County ( CO. C). IN some of his correspondence he staes that, they did drill a bit while in Marshall.
James, let's continue with our correspondence. I am going to Chickamauga at the end of May, as I will be conducting additional research. I am also planning several living history events in the Asheville area; one of which will have us portraying the 60th.
