Jim,

"The Madison Guards" were formed before the draft of February, 1862. They were officially designated as Co B. 2nd NC battalion.
I have been reenacting for sixteen years. And, out of those sixteen years, the last nine have been devoted to the campaign/authentic side of it. I am fairly well versed in the uniforms of the period. Most of my group wears Charlie Child's, Richmond Depot, and various other authentic vendor made items.
If you are looking for a NC uniform, which can be difficult, then you need to pick a regiment, a time period, and a campaign. NC troops are documented as drawing both Central government ( Richmond) as well as NC quartermaster items.
