Yes, I'd read that they raised the ten companies, then read somewhere else that there had been 4 or 6 other companies that were never mustered, but "saw service as state troops". I thought perhaps this Co. N was one of those un-mustered companies, and have found really nothing about company N. I do know that Hamton (Hampton) Magill (McGill) appeared to have enlisted and is on the muster roll for 27 Sept to 31 Oct 1862, @ Greenville (TN OR NC?),in Captain John F. Fitzgerald's Company of the 64th NC *state troops, as indicated in the CMSR. I'm just searching for ANY info I might get about this outfit.
