Actually, I think they are all about equality. I'm a little bit more equal than you in the post office employment test, I'm a little bit more equal than you in college entrance. Yes, I think it's precisely about equality and nothing more.

But I will say: have you ever notice how different people become once they're true Christians? I've seen a change in people who don't usually get along, including myself. Who don't I get along with? Hi, George! :)

Even as a Yankee, I used to love the Dukes of Hazzard. I never owned one of them ugly orange farm-boy funny cars, and I certainly would've put General Longstreet instead of General Lee, but hey it was fun! Although Sorrell Booke didnt' exactly look too good on you. Think Boss Hogg was named after Texas Reconstruction governor JS Hogg, or was that just a convenient slam on the implied pork and corruption as dreamed up by some New York guy?

I actually think Song of the South and Dukes of Hazzard may have been a dead tie for equal parts of fact and fiction, with the preponderence of evidence going to fiction.

As a kid, I loved Song of the South, and the music: Zippity doo-dah, and the whole Bre'r Bear/Fox/Rabbit thing about coming on like a cold wind on a nasty day.

Even as a Yankee, I lament the destruction of our national heritage literature. Don't care what section of the country it comes from, long as it ain't Mississippi. :)
