As a little girl, I like the story Little Black Sambo too. Just like any other story. I never thought of it as 'racial'. I never knew that word as a child. Uncle Remus was never anything but 'Uncle'. As I grew into my teens is when the national movement started and things got ugly. Then everything was considered derogitory, even if it was meant to teach a lesson. I liked the simpler times I think.
Equality if fine. It's right. It's what is supposed to be. The problem is Equality is one sided in certain areas.
The Dukes of Hazzard were hokey to me but my kids loved em. The program was funny and made a lot more sense to me then the Beverly Hillbillies. A lot of the shows back then had car chases in them. Movies too. It was entertainment, nothing else. We enjoyed watching Good Times too but got to admit JJ's "Dynomite!" got old. Florence didn't offend anyone as the Jefferson's maid.
