Well actually Paul the issue is a little deeper than that. Federal funds, a loan I believe, were requested for the repair, but some Federal officials protested on the basis of racism. Now the other side of the coin is they had no problem getting the funds to promote their projects.

Work is being done and we will get the money to complete repairs. It may take an army of volunteers to get the job done, but we won't cry about it.

As for the Yankee money, I believe when the north need funds, food etc, Mississippi is always willing to help. In fact some time ago someone put up stats, on this board that show Mississippi to be the most charitable state in the Union. If you mean Donald Trump, I think his mother was from the South.

We do appreciate the help from the entire country, I have never heard anyone in Mississippi say any different. That being the case, no need to make little snide, sarcastic, cutting remarks such as the above. We didn't scream racism, turn away help, and shoot at the relief workers,lot the entire city, demand more and more. That was New Orleans. We got up the next morning, put our boots on and went to work. You know unlike New Orleans our houses were not just flooded, they were wiped out completely to the slab and in some cases even the slab was broken.
