Who's to say even Hitler would have existed had the South gained it's independence. The economy of Europe may have been highly affected, there may not have been a Franco-Prussian War. Who knows?

I try to exercise to keep fairly limber, but if I could stretch like this...who-doggie! If you could do time travel, you could go back and change the position of one stinking rock and history would be changed forever. Maybe this is what you have in mind?

Why would the economy of Europe been affected? Once synthetic cotton came along, the South's prime export started rotting on the docks of the south. What was going to take its place, exporting slaves back to their former homelands to extol the virtues of plantation servitude?
