One good stretch deserves another....Hitler?

"Why would the economy of Europe been affected? Once synthetic cotton came along, the South's prime export started rotting on the docks of the south. What was going to take its place, exporting slaves back to their former homelands to extol the virtues of plantation servitude?"

Europe depended on American wheat in 62-63, their crops had failed due to bad weather conditions. By 1864 Europe was a major importer of American goods. In 1860 Europeans were a major block of the stockholders in the American commodities market. France was trying to hold on to an Imperial Mexico and the Union was a major thorn in their side supplying the Mexican rebels. There are many many connections between America and Europe politically and economically during the 1860s. Any change in our history would have changed their history. A ripple effect.
