Here is an outstanding thread from one of the H-Net discussion sites on the topic of Smallpox infected trade goods being supplied to the Native-Americans.

After reading this, I can't find any conclusive evidence that this occurred, at least intentionally, or that it was any sort of White Man's plan to wipe out the Native-Americans.
From an earlier post, I had stated that "the Lord Amherst Story" about the use of smallpox infected blankets against the Indians was the Shawnee. For clarification, the story originates from "Pontiac's Rebellion" 1763-1766 and the Indian tribes allied with Chief Pontiac against the British were the Ottawas, Ojibwas, Potawatomis, Hurons, Miamis, Weas, Kickapoos, Mascoutens, Piankashaws, Delawares (Lenape), Shawnees, Wyandots, and Mingos.
