Re: What is a neo-Confederate?
In Response To: What is a neo-Confederate? ()

"And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch."

Book of Acts, Chapter 11, Verse 26 (KJV)

The term "Christian" in those days was not considered a compliment by those who coined the word. It was meant as a mocking insult.

I like you are too old to be called a "neo"anything. Those who use any word, or term, or phrase, to label, or deride any person, or group of people, is really a sad piece of humanity. And that includeds all the people who appear regularly on the TV talk Shows. It is the same as calling a person of Italian decent, or African decent, or Jewish decent, or Polish decent any of the racial epitath that has been used in their past to identify their culture.

To use labels such as "neo-Con", "neo-Conservative", "neo-Confederate" as a means of promoting ones argument, by putting any group of people down, is the same to me as calling a person of African decent the "N" word, or a white person a "honky" or a "cracker". It show a lack of ability to conduct their agrument on the basis of merit.
