George, unlike Jim, we are about 250 miles inland from Galveston and some 300 miles from Brownsville. The last DEAN track I saw seems to put Browsville on the northern outer fringe of the Hurricane, BUT - warm Gulf water seem to change things.

This is an entirely new experience for us, having just moved here. Right now, I cannot imagine a Cat 4 or 5 Hurricane hitting the Texas coast and amounting to much by the time it gets this far inland, BUT, we are going to stock up on some essentials anyway.
