The winds could still be high as George said. Tornado's are also something to watch out for. If your area is prone to any flooding, put your family photo's and other small items you treasure in those plastic tubs and seal with duct tape. Yeah, I know, but no joke, it works. :) Keep a good supply of bottled water on hand. You'll use it later if you don't need it and it does come in handy if the water supply is compromised.
Batteries. If you have a generator, get a box fan. They word well to keep some of the heat out of the house when the storms over and the power is off.
Most important thing is to listen to the storm. If you need to get into an inner room, you'll know.
