Re: Hijacking a thread
In Response To: Re: Hijacking a thread ()

Ken,

I can be a little bit of a "smart alec", so including you in my posting may have been inappropriate. In this case, you responded directly to me. I couldn't tell if you were speaking to me as the owner of the message board or with a complaint about me, individually, hijacking the thread. Thinking it might be the latter, I thought, "I wonder why Ken would single me out?". I looked back through some of your postings and noted that, in spite of your Southern background, you had earlier complimented and agreed with many of "Craig's" positions. I guess I thought maybe you had taken offense at my spat with Craig or were coming to his defense.

No need to defend yourself and I didn't take offense. You came across clearly, as I understood you, asking that people not hijack threads. I agreed with you and apologized for doing so.

I appreciate your participation and your contribution to these message boards.

You know, my "webmaster" title and ownership of these sites gives undue weight to my postings. My desire in creating these sites, initially, was to enjoy participating in the discussions, myself. Everything I post sounds a little more aggressive, has an underlying meaning or is viewed differently because I own the message boards. I've actually been thinking of posting on these message boards under an "alias", but I've worried if someone ever figured out it was me, it might appear dishonest. What do you think?

Jim
