You may be referring to The National Civil War Center located on the grounds of Tredegar Iron Works in Richmond. This is the location that drew such great controversy over the placement of a statue of Lincoln and his son a few years back. The museum is mostly a collection of electronic maps and interpretive displays. Although there are a number of artifacts on display they in no way come close to the collection held at The Museum of The Confederacy. An interesting announcement was made yesterday concerning the MOC's priceless collection that should be of interest to everyone. It's sad that Richmond and all of it's racist leanings has never been able to grasp the signifigance of it's history. Now it would appear that Richmond is willing to let a large amount of it "go" in order to make up for budget shortfalls. The MOC has been run like a country club for years. Large salaries, gross spending, and little promotion. Now another shrine of Southern Heritage will fall to the PC leanings of the masses.
