Turns out the wheel on which that 4.5" tire was mounted was 3.25 or 3.5 " wide. Might I have mistaken the wheel for the tire? Probably not since it was the tire that blew out, not the wheel. I stand corrected. Amazing howmuch obscure information one picks up on these boards. I may now be the only person who knows the diameter of the tire on a 1925-26 Model T Ford.
