Re: The rifle used in Legends of the Fall

Oh I wish,...someday...someday (when my wife lets me, LOL). I got to shoot an equivilant weapon back about ten years ago out on a desert shoot. I do own the percussion .54 Sharps carbine model. I also own a .50 Hawkins and a .58 Richmond Rifle Musket. I've hand made the paper cartridges for the Sharpes carbine and I am impressed at the simplicity and utility of that weapon. I can see how the long rifle version could have been a great asset on the battlefield.
