Sorry George, you'll have to be more specific. I know people have talked about tariffs and taxes, but I can't recall any specific federal taxes that were focused solely on Southern states.

The other point I think we should consider when dealing with wealth and money in the South is where most of this money was. It was not from production, but capital invested in slaves.
