Re: Charges at Franklin and Gettysburg

Actually, Lee's monument is presently sitting on the site of where Wright's Georgia Brigade was located, and the site from where they charged on July 2nd, during Longstreet's attack. They actually drove the Union Infantry off of Cemetery Ridge at the Corp of Trees during that engagement. But because they were not supported by the next brigade in line on the left or right they were unable to hold their gains. The next days Picketts charge that same corp of trees was the objective of that advance. So the point is I am not sure that Lee's present day statue was the place where Pickett's Division was located to start his charge.
