I was going to post on this after I spoke with a reenactor friend that was there that day. I haven't been able to catch up with him. Yeah, this thing happened like september the 20th or so. It may be that the news just made it "around". The facts are that it was a pistol round not a musket. The guy who was shot was watching the filming of a Confederate cavalry charge from the spectator area. He was a reenactor but was not involved in what was being filmed at that moment. And although this is a rare occurence it does happen from time to time. The local police were supposed to be reviewing the film footage to try to determine which pistol the round came from. But I have heard nothing else about it. We do a couple of events at that site throughout the year. The county has always supported and helped fund the events that were held there. I hope this doesn't turn things sour. I'll be at another event this weekend (Locust Grove Plantation on the Mattaponi River in Walkerton, VA) where a lot of cavalry will be participating. If I can find out any pertinent info I'll post it later.
