Re: First Families of Mississippi: to David
In Response To: First Families of Mississippi ()

Hello. That is a wonderful site. Thanks for sharing.
I actually know some folks who carry those surnames who descend from
people who moved on to Arkansas and I know they came out of Mississippi.
I am interested in this John and William Terry as well as Henry Temple.
My gg grandmother was Eliza Peace Terry who married William Robinson Vaughn.
The moved on to Arkansas where she died in a outbreak of some fever in the early
1850's. W.R. Vaughn died in Little Rock, Arkansas flat broke in 1876 because
he refused to sign the loyalty oath after the Civil War ended.
I am thinking the Henry Temple may have had a descendant/relative named
Francis/Frank Temple who married my gg aunt Sally Pruitt/Prewitt prior
to the Civil War. One of their sons was named Henry.
I am strictly working from memory but I am pretty sure there is a connection
in some of this.
