Re: First Families of Mississippi

To David Upton: I am very interested in the story of the Richardson family and their travel to the Mississippi Valley in the early 1800s, their first crop, return to South Carolina and return to Wilkinson County, MS. My great, great, great grandfather, Crenshaw (Cranshaw) Parkman was involved in the exploratory trip and initial crop-raising prior to 1808-1809, returned to South Carolina and brought the family back in the 1810-1815 timeframe. His wife known only by the first name of Carolyn (Caroline, Carolina) apparently made the trip back to Mississippi. Their son, Edmondson Parkman, accompanied Elijah Richardson and related families on the journey to Southwestern Mississippi and then moved to the Scott County area after the cessation and migration of the Choctaws. Crenshaw's name can be found in Wilkinson, Lincoln, Amite, Pike and a few other places up through 1820 (after which he drops from view). Are there any Parkmans in the notes you have on this area??
