Re: Hypotheticals that are hard to contemplate tod

If I am not mistaken Arizona and New Mexico, like the Indian territories of Oklahoma, were Confederate territories during the War. I know we don't think of that factor very much. Why would they be annexed into the United States? It would be my thinking that they would apply for statehood to the Confederate States, not the United States, based or their position of being Confederate territories during the war.

Therein would be my contention that the Political "spark" that would ignite a second War between the U.S.A. and C.S.A. would be the question of borders between Arizona and California. Or Arizona, or New Mexico, with either Nevada or Colorado to the north.

I do see an allience with either, or both England and France, Especially France since they were the closest to the Confederate States with holdings in Mexico under Maximillian.
