Turtledove's plot has the South allied with England (I think) when the North and South are again matched in WWI. The CSA also includes the Northern states of Mexico, and New Mexico & Arizona. Canada is allied with the CSA and Cuba is also part of CSA. Don't hold me to these details as it has been years since I read them. One interesting bit that I recall is George Custer surviving and sending wave after wave of "cannon fodder" into machine gun fire. Years ago, I think it was in the early sixties, Life Magazine ran some articles on "If the South Had Won the War". I may have some of these details confused.
