Many intelligent men in those days were not privy to Roget's Thesaurus, nor had they any appreciable exposure to French, though they may have stidied Napolean's tactics. Today's CinC is a Harvard Graduate. He has had ample opportunity to familiarize himself with the units and areas of expertise of those over whom he holds sway. Would he have said "Marine Corpse"?
