George...I appreciate your offer, but before you go to all of that work, let me see if our local library has a copy of the book. Sometimes, I think I am overly through in my researching of my ancestors
role as outlined in various family histories which I am using as a basis to determine those who may have served in the families of distant relatives. In most instances where Civil War activities are concerned, there are sometimes only an indication "that he was a Civil War soldier" Basically, this only gives me a name with which to begin, and in many cases, these relatives played interesting roles.

I am still working on my Great Great-Grandfather's unit, the 13th/16th Battalion Georgia Calvary.
Relatively speaking, there were a very small unit, between 2500-3000 men. I am endeavoring to extract all of the information contained in each man's CSR that has survived.

Some CSR's have very little data, some have 20-50 pages, for example, my ancestor's CSR only contained 1 card and on that card his name was spelled incorrectly. My problem is reading the hand writing on the documents, because it has poor penmanship or because they needed to sharpen the pencil because the writing is so pale.

I am grateful for all of the knowledgeable people on the various boards for their able assistance.
